One unit didn't have any transmit power. The software gives signal strength and one was good and the other very poor. I ended up pulling cat 5 and sending these back to Amazon.
I bought this to hook up my Direct Tv DVR to my router. For this application it was plug and play with no installation involved. Worked right from the get go as advertized.
This product is awesome and I plan to purchase two more when they are available at amazon.
But despite this, these adapters work flawlessly. I tried fiddling with the configuration settings of the wireless adapter but no luck. Had a PC which could not reconnect with my wireless Internet system when it woke up from sleep mode. My PC regains internet connectivity within a few seconds of waking up from sleep, and it's fast - 15 mbps download speed, which is comparable to what I get on my laptop with wireless. So I bought this - plugged one unit in next to my wireless router and connected with an ethernet cable, then plugged the other in by the pc and connected with an ethernet cable and within 2 seconds I had internet connectivity on the PC. The 2 electrical outlets are not just on different circuits, but on different distribution boards - one is covered by my backup generator while the other is not. All in all, a great product. Cannot recommend it highly enough.
Stable enough to play World of Warcraft for hours on end. I struggled with getting Wireless to work consistently on the upstairs PCs and it would work for a while, but have intermittent disconnections. I installed these and the network is running very stable. Yes, other internet based applications run fine, also, but WOW ROCKS. Thanks Actiontech for making such an inexpensive and easy to use home networking solution.
